Chicago, Ill.- UIC assistant coach Tracy Dildy was ranked as the nation's top assistant coaches at the mid-major level by Hoop Scoop in the April 2008 edition of the Basketball Times magazine.

Hoop Scoop's Clark Francis, who has covered the college recruiting beat for 25 years, compiled his list of the nation's top coaches in a variety of categories. Dildy was his No. 1 choice as the best assistant in the mid-level Division I game.

Dildy just completed his first season back at UIC after spending time cutting his coaching teeth at the likes of UAB, Mississippi, Auburn, DePaul and Ball State.

The 18-year coaching veteran began his career as an assistant coach for the Flames from 1990-94.
