July 29, 2008

Chicago, Ill.- UIC junior right-handed pitcher Brad Riegler (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South H.S.) was recently selected to pitch in the 2008 Central Illinois Collegiate League (CICL) All-Star Game in Huntingburg, Indiana.

Riegler, who is pitching this summer for the DuPage Dragons, represented the CICL All-Stars against the KIT League All-Stars in a game that pitted the best players from two prominent collegiate wooden bat leagues on July 21 at the Dubois County Bombers' League Stadium. He tossed an inning of scoreless work in the CICL All-Stars' 7-6 victory.

So far Riegler owns the CICL's second-best earned run average (1.80). He is 4-2 in 12 outings, including five starts, and has allowed just nine earned runs while fanning 34 hitters in 45 innings for the Dragons.

In two seasons at UIC, Riegler has made 33 appearances and owns an unblemished 5-0 record while playing a role in back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances for the Flames.

Joining Reigler on the Dragons is one of his UIC teammates, sophomore left-hander Eric Wyman (West Chicago, Ill./West Chicago H.S.). Wyman is 1-1 with a 3.13 ERA in nine appearances during the summer.
