College Station, Texas- UIC junior outfielder Jake Carr (Frankfort, Ill./Marian Catholic) was named to the 2008 NCAA College Station Regional All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the regional on Monday night.

Carr hit .357 (5-for-14) with two RBI, two runs scored, a sac fly and a stolen base during the Flames' three-game regional run.

He had two hits and an RBI in each of UIC's last two regional contests, a win over Dallas Baptist on May 31 and an extra-inning loss to Houston on June 1.

Carr is the fifth all-time UIC student-athlete to earn selection to an NCAA Baseball Regional All-Tournament Team. Shane Crowder and Ted Rosinski were selected to the 2005 NCAA Lincoln Regional All-Tournament Team, and last year Ryan Zink and Chad Schroeder were chosen for the 2007 NCAA Long Beach Regional All-Tournament Team.
