UIC Community Assist

"The teens in our youth group had a great time."

- Becky Terlep., Coordinator of Foundations Youth Ministry, Old. St. Patrick's Church

Everyone Wins

"The kids had so much fun on the way home they asked if we could come back again! Not only did the Chicago House teens see quality basketball, but they also got a chance to visit a college campus and envision themselves as students, which is very powerful to youth who may be the first ones in their families to be graduating high school."

- Andrea Tashiro, Support Service Manager, Chicago House

Your organization benefits from the generous contributions of sponsors to the UIC Athletic Department. This funding provides the opportunity for your group to attend a Division I men's or women's basketball game, volleyball match, or soccer game. In addition to watching Division I athletics, your group gains exposure to the campus setting associated with an institution of higher learning.

Your organization can use this opportunity in a number of ways. The outing can be used as a reward for hard work, excellent achievements, or outstanding efforts made by your members. It can also be used as a character, and group morale building experience. Or simply, it can be used as a safe, exciting, and enjoyable evening of entertainment for your group.

How the UIC Community Assist Program Works

"Everyone had a great time. They thought they were only going for a basketball game and were thrilled with the cheerleaders, dance team, band and all the entertainment between quarters and at half-time."

- Shirley Runge, St. Alphonsus Liguori Parish

Your organization receives complimentary tickets to an available UIC athletic event. In situations where more than 50 people are attending, complimentary bus transportation to and from the UIC Pavilion may also be provided (certain restrictions apply). Depending on demand, your group may have the opportunity to attend more than one athletic event during the year.

Upon arrival at the UIC Pavilion, your group will be met by a UIC representative and distributed tickets. You will then be escorted to your seats, where you can cheer loudly for the Flames and to have a fantastic time.

Who Can Participate?

"It was a wonderful family event that our students and parents are still raving about. This was truly the highlight of our school year!"

- Lowanda Bell, Lead Teacher, Woodlawn Community School
