Big Red Fund Priority Point System
Mission Statement | Traditions | Methods of Giving | Director's Message
The Big Red Fund Priority Point system is a fair and effective way to assist UIC Athletics in raising the funds necessary to provide our student-athletes with every opportunity to succeed. The goal of the Priority Point system is to reward those fans who support the program the longest and the strongest. Priority points will be awarded throughout the fiscal year (July 1 through June 30) as outlined below. Points can be earned through participation as a major gift donor and/or through annual fund donations. In addition, each Big Red Fund member can earn points as a season ticket holder, UIC golf event participant or by joining an athletic booster club. Every donor to the Big Red Fund is essential in our mission to support the scholarship needs of UIC student-athletes. Priority Points are awarded in two ways:
I. Major Donor Gifts/Annual Funds
II. Other Methods of Support
Season Tickets
Support Groups
Special Events
Total points are calculated and then put in numerical order with all active Big Red Fund members. Under IRS section 170, donors may deduct 80% of contributions to higher education institutions for which the donor is given the opportunity to purchase tickets for seating at athletic events. |
